God is changing the Church, and that, in turn, will change the world. Millions of Christians around the world are aware of an imminent reformation of global proportions. They say, in effect: “Church as we know it is preventing Church as God wants it.” A growing number of them are surprisingly hearing God say the very same things. There is a collective new awareness of age-old revelations, a corporate spiritual echo. In the following “15 Theses” I will summarize a part of this, and I am convinced that it reflects a part of what the Spirit of God is saying to the Church today. For some, it might be the proverbial fist-sized cloud on Elijah’s sky. Others already feel the pouring rain.

Thinking Big By Staying Small

Today, more than 112 million Christians worldwide do not attend a traditional church. Each year, one million Christians leave the institutional church in the United States. Currently, more than five million adult Christians meet in house church/organic churches in the USA. This number is growing daily.

What is an “organic church” or “simple church” or “home church”:
Organic is simply a non-traditional church born out of spiritual life. Organic church life is a grass roots experience marked by relationships, authenticity, experience, mystery, diversity – a community of believers assembled to experience Jesus together – where each believer is co-equal, interdependent of each other and dependent only upon God. A place where each believer is equipped/prepared and built-up so that they become mature, growing up in Christ Jesus and released to do the work God has called them to.

Getting Back To Basics: Thinking Big By Staying Small & Simple
“Then Saul outfitted David as a soldier in armor. He put his bronze helmet on his head and belted his sword on him over the armor. David tried to walk but he could hardly budge. David told Saul, “I can’t even move with all this stuff on me. I’m not used to this.” And he took it all off” (1 Samuel 17:38,39 – The Message). Saul’s armor was not fitting for David because David discovered that he could not move quickly, efficiently and effectively.
